Ethical consumerism is on the rise, from organic foods and wines, Fairtrade coffee, to energy saving light bulbs and responsible travel, a growing number of us are choosing a more informed lifestyle.In fact the ethical consumerism is the fastest growing sector of the economy according to the "The Ethical Consumerism Report 2005" from New Economics Foundation and The Co-Operative Bank. In 2004 the survey estimated the sector at £25.8 billion.

Ethical Investments passed the £10 billion mark (£10.6 billion), energy efficient electrical goods now make up 59.4% of the entire UK market, Fairtrade and organic products now account for £4 billion of sales, and Carbon offsetting passed £3.4 billion.

Natural choices will concentrate on organic seasonal food and drinks, energy efficiency for the home and office, Fairtrade products, ethical finance, and responsible tourism as well as covering sustainable work and home lifestyles.

NaturalChoices.co.uk is a free access site, its revenue is from advertising on the site. "We believe that information should be available to all and not just those who can afford a subscription, we also know that this is a strong enough economic sector to support through advertising such a site" said Peter Shield.

Peter Shield comes from an online publishing and advertising background, most recently Director of Strategy and Business Development at one of France's fastest growing high tech companies, Decision News Media, he is a former COO of Vivendi Universal's online sales organisation, ad2-one, and European Sales Director of Europe's largest online sales organisation 24/7 Media. Previously he launched European Voice for the Economist Group in Brussels, and spent five years with the Financial Times in London.
