Sites for All- Free Access


Natural Choices Media is committed to a free access business model. This means that we do not charge for use of our websites or subscription to our newsletters. We do not require registration for use of the site, however we do ask for basic demographics for subscribers to the newsletter to help us build up an anonymous demographic profile of our readers to present to our advertisers.

Free access is a trade off, by forgoing the usual subscription model used by magazines and news services we have cut off an important revenue stream, however we hope that the larger readership will help offset this lost revenue by increasing our attractiveness to advertisers. It also fits with our philosophy that information should be available to all and not just those willing or able to pay for it.

Advertising and the intelligent reader

Our advertising policy is based on assuming reader intelligence. We are bombarded with advertising in our day to day lives, and analysing the subtext of stated claims is second nature, particularly to the ethical consumer and business person. Advertisers who make spurious claims are doing themselves no favour as our readers are amongst the most information hungry of all consumers and very quickly can cut to the heart of any advertising message, true of false.

We do not screen advertisers, it is up to the intelligent reader to decide if company x will get there support of not.

We do not endorse the claims, products and services of our advertisers. Our advertisers guarantee that they conform to advertising British law.

Naturally any advert which is racist, homophobic, sexist, portrays disabled people in a negative way, or promotes discrimination based on age is out of the question.

Adverts on our site take three formats, banners displayed on web pages, text and image adverts on our newsletters and from time to time direct e-mail messages from advertisers. We send out the mail on behalf of our advertisers, the details of our users individual e-mails/demographics is never passed onto any advertiser. You can opt out of receiving this type of mail. We would ask you not to as advertising is our only source of revenue and by opting out you are limiting our ability to fund our editorial.

Editorial and advertising


Advertising and editorial are totally independent. The basis of our readership loyalty is the very fact that they have confidence in independence of our editorial, our broad audience is won through that confidence and we will do nothing to compromise our journalist's freedom of action.

Intelligent readers can see through "advertorials" in a split second and in our opinion they give no benefit to either the advertiser or the news service.

If advertisers do complain about our editorial coverage, as they do from time to time, we will of course we check the facts of the story. If the facts stand up then the story stands. If of course we have made an error then naturally we will make any changes necessary as fast as possible- as a service to our readers.
